PHYTO5 naturally colored clays for face, body and scalp are comprised of clay/kaolin and marine sediments. Our uniquely formulated blends of essential oils give the clays additional properties that are quite effective in balancing the conditions of the element/condition or season.

Having an understanding of the five elements and how each element corresponds to a condition of the body or skin is part of the elegant delivery of the PHYTO5 Beauty of Emotions protocol. With it we focus on specific areas of the body where the client is experiencing certain body issues and with the use of the five colored clays we can achieve a more balanced condition for the client.

Green Clay Mask is stimulating, improves circulation including energetic and is recommended for oily skin and hair because it regulates the sebum production revitalizing, mineralizing and soothing the skin. It absorbs toxins and has anti-inflammatory, healing and disinfectant properties.

Red Clay Mask provides a balancing function. It improves the energetic quality of blood circulation in the skin and circulation of the lymph. It absorbs toxins and the harmful effects of environmental pollutants. It has disinfectant, soothing and healing properties.

Yellow Clay Mask is normalizing and purifies intoxicated skin while toning, stimulating blood and lymph circulation and oxygenating the cells. It is disinfectant offering healing, soothing and softening properties.

White Clay Mask is extremely rich in minerals and is a revitalizing clay. It promotes lymphatic and blue blood circulation for age-defiance and important oxygenation of the skin.

Black Clay Mask targets toning and hydration of the skin as it balances water circulation. It increases skin's elasticity while softening the skin.

Absynthe extract: Absynthe balances the organs of the Wood element which are liver and gall bladder. Used as a 'bitter,' absynthe is an effective herbal medicine for treating loss of appetite, dyspeptic disorders, and liver and gall bladder complaints. It is derived from botanicals, including the flowers and leaves of grand wormwood.

Algae: Rich in trace minerals, proteins, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids, this seaweed (Laminaria digitata) mineralizes, revitalizes and moisturizes. It firms and tones the skin and is recommended in the prevention of wrinkles and fine lines.

Aloe vera: The resin from this succulent plant acts directly on the skin’s collagen fibers, fostering and revitalizing elasticity. It contains complex polysaccharides that encourage water retention and which also offer excellent moisturizing properties. Aloe vera is used in the treatment of dermatitis because it soothes the pain and heals infections.

Apricot kernel oil: This oil contains approximately 90% polyunsaturated fatty acids (Omegas 6 and 9). Very rich in vitamins A and E, it is nourishing, hydrating and has anti-wrinkle properties. It naturally softens and revitalizes the skin and is particularly recommended for mature, dry or sensitive skin and skin lacking tone

Avocado oil: Rich in omegas 6 and 9 as well as proteins, minerals and vitamins (A, B, C, D, E, H, K and PP), avocado oil has moisturizing, anti-wrinkle and revitalizing properties. It is ideal for nourishing skin care.

Balloon vine extract: The extract of this climbing plant widely distributed in tropical and subtropical Africa and Asia is known for its ability to treat joint pain effectively. Rich in antioxidants, it is also an anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic. Medical studies have also confirmed that balloon vine extract is effective in treating eczema.

Bigarade essential oil: Also known as “Chinese Bitter Orange" oil, bigarade oil is recommended for acne treatment, this oil is an antiseptic. It soothes the skin and has excellent relaxing properties.

Black currant extract: This antioxidant-rich extract of the purple-black berry, the black currant, eases inflammation in the body and helps reduce joint and muscle pain and stiffness.

Chili pepper ferment extract: A stimulating agent, the active ingredient in peppers, capsaicin, has demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects in lab studies.

Copper: This anti-inflammatory, anti-aging antioxidant mineral stimulates production of keratin, collagen and elastin which make skin look toned and youthful.

Corn germ oil: Rich in vitamins A, D, E and K, corn seed oil is nourishing, protecting and mineralizing. It is rich in essential unsaturated fatty acids–containing about 60% omega 6–it is energizing and a potent antioxidant.

Cypress essential oil: The best essential oil for venous and lymphatic circulation, cypress oil is especially recommended for varicose veins, heavy legs or venous stases. 

Eucalyptus essential oil: An essential oil that is very soothing to the skin, it is often used in the treatment of cellulite.

Glycerin: Of vegetal origin, it smoothes and moisturizes the skin and serves as an effective skin lubricant.

Grapeseed oil: This flavonoid-rich oil abounds in essential fatty acids (Omegas 6 and 9). While it protects and moisturizes the skin, it helps to fight against free radicals and aging. It also has softening, nourishing, exfoliating as well as cooling and revitalizing properties.

Green tea extract: Rich in antioxidants and especially the polyphenol antioxidants known as catechins, green tea improves the skin and brain, liver and heart function.

Horsetail extract: This extract is essential for skin because it contains silicium which is an anti-age ingredient that increases the synthesis of collagen and elasticity of the skin therefore it is highly recommended for wrinkle stretch marks or scars. Horsetail is very mineralizing as well astringent, tonifying and anti-acne.

Horse chestnut derivative extract: Used to treat for chronic venous insufficiency, this extract has anti-inflammatory properties and contributes a positive effect on venous tone and blood coagulability.

Hyaluronic acid: When applied directly to the skin this carbohydrate holds water to the skin’s surface thereby increasing hydration and alleviating dryness. It is an important component eye fluid, skin’s connective tissue and  structural support of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Hydroxyproline (an amino acid): Hydroxyproline is an important component of collagen. It also helps manufacture tendons, ligaments and heart muscle. It helps heal cartilage and provides cushion for joints.

Iron: A mineral that gives skin a healthy glow, iron helps regulate hemoglobin levels. The improved oxygen flow iron facilitates can bring color to the skin.

Jojoba oil (organic): This vegetal oil is moisturizing with a non-greasy touch. Because of its unsaponifiable components (precious components found in some oils with softening, revitalizing and moisturizing properties), it spreads easily. Jojoba oil penetrates the epidermis easily without leaving any film, mainly because its characteristics are very close to those of the skin’s natural sebum. It is also an antioxidant with anti-age properties and revitalizes and nourishes skin and hair.

Juniper berry essential oil: Possessing anti-inflammatory, calming, anti-irritating and lipolitic properties, juniper also acts against water retention. It is a skin and blood purifier and counteracts unwanted water retention. With antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiseptic properties, juniper berry helps heal skin conditions caused by hormone imbalance and relieves skin irritations.

Lavender essential oil: This oil lends a sensation of well-being and relaxation, helps alleviate pain–both physical and mental–and quickens the healing process. It is recommended in cases of infection, allergic dermatitis, burns, wounds or acne. It boosts circulation, lowers blood pressure, and strengthens muscles.

Lemon essential oil: An anti-inflammatory, anti-irritating and astringent that relaxes nervous energy, this oil attenuates wrinkles and is used in the treatment of cellulite.

Lime essential oil: Stimulating and refreshing, lime essential oil is a good liver detoxifier. It is rich in antioxidants and helps prevent and relieve internal and external infections.

Magnesium: Magnesium is known for relaxing muscles and helping to smooth wrinkles. It acts on cell renewal and energy production within cells as it binds calcium for the improvement of skin hydration.

Marine algae: Rich in trace minerals, proteins, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids, this seaweed (Laminaria digitata) mineralizes, revitalizes and moisturizes. It firms and tones the skin and is recommended in the prevention of wrinkles and fine lines.

Sweet marjoram oil: This oil is an antiseptic, anti-irritant and relaxant.

Millet extract: The millet seed soothes, nourishes, stimulates and revitalizes the skin. It is also an emollient.

Niaouli essential oil: This oil is a skin tonic which easily penetrates the eipdermis and stimulates venous and lymphatic circulation and is especially recommended for varicose veins, heavy legs or venous stases. It is also antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.

Sweet orange oil: This is an oil known for its calming, mood enhancing, anti-anxiety, anti-irritating, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. It is immune-boosting, improves complexion, lessens wrinkles, increases circulation and reduces muscle, bone and joint pain.

Peppermint essential oil: This oil is a cooling and relaxing decongestant. It is also recommended on “heavy legs." It is effective in treating joint pain and inflammation, and is cooling and soothing.

Sylvester pine oil: This oil is a stimulating, anti-inflammatory decongestant that also soothes pain.

Plankton extract: Very rich in vitamins, proteins and minerals, this blue green algae extract (Spirulina platensis) is stimulating, anti-inflammatory and very moisturizing. It is also an antioxidant and stimulates blood circulation, and mineralizes and revitalizes the skin. As a result, it strengthens the skin. All these properties make it a potent anti-aging ingredient.

Pomegranate oil: Reinvigorating to the skin and rich in antioxidants, pomegranate oil is an anti-inflammatory, improves skin texture and is excellent for all skin types.

Rice bran extract/oil: A very moisturizing agent and potent antioxidant

Rosemary extract/essential oil: Rosemary stimulates blood circulation and has anti-rheumatic, analgesic, anti-infectious and healing properties. As an extract rosemary is a preservative and an antioxidant. With anti-age properties, it is known as a free radical scavenger. Rosemary's benefits include detoxification, anti-cancer behavior and better nutrient absorption. The implications for healthier, more radiant, clarified skin as a result of incorporating rosemary essential oil into skincare are enormous.

Sage oil: A lipolitic and antiseptic agent, sage oil also possesses healing properties and balances blood circulation.

Soybean extract: The extract of soybean is a potent anti-age ingredient because it increases the formation of collagen and elastin. It revitalizes, mineralizes and moisturizes the skin and has stimulating properties. Additionally, it is rich in omega 3, vitamins (A1, B1, B2, PP, E and C) and essential minerals.

Sunflower essential oil: High grade organic Sunflower oil is very rich in essential unsaturated fatty acids (more than 85%) and vitamins (E and F). Sunflower oil is well-known for its nourishing, soothing and revitalizing properties. It penetrates easily because its composition is very similar to the skin’s natural sebum.

Sylvester pine essential oil: This oil is a stimulating, anti-inflammatory decongestant that also soothes pain.

Thyme essential oil: Thymol in thyme oil makes it an excellent natural preservative. Thyme oil possesses anti-infectious and antioxidant properties.

Vitamin C: This potent antioxidant is needed in the synthesis of collagen and blood. It has excellent anti-aging properties.

Vitamin E: The main antioxidant of the product in which it is found, it prevents oils from developing rancidity and helps to safeguard cells against free radical damage which causes aging and protects against environmental stressors. It is also an effective anti-inflammatory.

Wheat germ extract/oil: This oil is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It increases blood circulation, and protects and moisturizes the skin. Rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (omegas 3, 6 and 9), it possesses anti-wrinkle properties.

Ylang ylang essential oil: A calming, sedative, aphrodisiacal oil, ylang-ylang assists as an antidepressant and helps maintain a good temper. It is an excellent skin and hair tonic.

Zinc: Zinc is an important mineral for stimulating synthesis of collagen and elastin both of which is vitally necessary for youthful skin. It is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent and skin revitalizer.
